He breathed in sharply: he knew this place. He had been there before - he had been there when he had wished for his fears to subside - deeper inwards where he felt at home. He had been there in the moments before sleep and after sex - that feeling of weightless sinking, that absolute silence; the bliss of being unburdened at last. Within the void, he saw himself as if in a mirror reflecting his back. He felt lost, and yet as if this place had always been his home after all.
