"What now, what now?", the spoon chirped, banging against one of the plates.
"Now that the cake has been baked and the glaze has been prepared", Adrien said, "we need to put everything together. So... Now, we take the cake and cut it in three discs, so that we can put the apricot jam in between".
A murmur snaked through the kitchenware. "Three discs? How can that be? The cake is already round", the spoon said.
Val giggled; he lifted his fountain pen from the paper of his journal. "I think you need to show them", he said.
Adrien chuckled to himself. "Yeah...". He picked up a knife, then set one hand on top of the cake; he gestured with the knife at the side of the cake, mimicking the circular motion required to cut it. "See? If you cut it twice, you get three discs".
There was a moment of silence. "Ooooooh!", the kitchenware then exclaimed. "We understand!".
