The storm subsided into mist and haze; within its remnants, Adrien stood frozen as Val slowly lowered his head and directed his gaze at him - and Adrien well knew those eyes of infinite sadness that he never wanted to see again.

"Why have you summoned me?", Val said, his voice thin and heavy.

Adrien wanted to speak, but words kept their distance from him and wouldn't come.

"Why?".

He no longer had an answer to this question. All that came out of his mouth was: "I...".
